Driving License Application Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old for a light vehicle license.

• Applicants must be at least 21 years old for heavy/equipment vehicle licenses.

Course Registration

• Beginners (no prior license) must enroll in the Full Course.

• Applicants holding a valid foreign driver's license may register for the Half Course, (subject to approval from the MOI Traffic Department) if the foreign driver's license is ineligible for conversion or direct test. (check the downloads for more details)

License Processing

• The Department of License Affairs at Doha Driving Academy facilitates MOI approvals (Sunday to Wednesday, 7:00 AM – 11:30 AM).

• Ladies must visit on Thursdays for license processing.

Transmission Selection

• Students may choose either Automatic or Manual transmission training. (Note: An Automatic license does not permit driving Manual vehicles.)

Important Guidelines

• Existing Driving Files: Applicants with prior registrations at other schools must transfer their file. (Contact: 44792263 / 44792264)

• Profession Verification: Ensure your QID profession aligns with license eligibility. 

• Eye Test Requirements: If wearing corrective lenses, ensure your ID photo matches.

  • Eye Test Center Hours: 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM (Saturday – Thursday)

• Access Card: Students must have their training access card at all times.

• Attendance Policy: Missed sessions will be deducted from the allotted training schedule.

• Learning Permit Validity: Expires after 3 months (Renewal fee: QAR 150).

• Schedule Change Requests: Submit a formal letter for approval by the Training Manager.

Code of Conduct

• Bribery or gifts to staff or instructors are strictly prohibited.
